Upcoming Readings & a Class
I’m participating in two upcoming readings in support of the recent release of my poetry book Bedroom Vowel (about which: if you a person who writes book reviews, or would like to be a person who writes book reviews, please drop me a line! I’m trying to do right by my lil book):
On Thursday, July 20th, I’ll be reading with imogen xtian smith at Juliet Gelfman-Randazzo’s Spit Poetry series. Doors 6:30pm, poetry 7pm. Gojjo upstairs. There will also be an open mic, so if you’re in Philly, come read a poem. 4540 Baltimore Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19143

The other reading is the hometown release for Bedroom Vowel, happening on July 22nd 7-9, with readings by Britt Billmeyer-Finn, Emily Hunerwadel, Ell Davis, and moi. This event is free and open to the public. Sulis is studio 253 in the Brushworks Arts & Industry Building in Florence, MA. 221 Pine St #100, Florence, MA 01062
Accessibility: masks optional but encouraged. There is a freight elevator which we would need to assist in operating. Please reach out if you’d like to use the elevator. Wheelchair accessible bathrooms are available.

I also have a one-off in-person workshop coming up at Looky Here. 28 Chapman St, Greenfield, MA 01301. The workshop is called Writing a Hit Poem and it is happening on 8/27 and here is the description:
Some poems, like some songs, are hits, bops, bangers. They stick in our heads and we can’t stop humming along. What distinguishes a hit from a flop? And how can we learn how to write hit poems? In this workshop, we’ll read a sample of hit poems, talk about what makes them tick, then write our own.
This was something I test drove in the workshops I was doing in my studio earlier this summer (shout out to Ben Sambrook, Britt Rusert, and the other folks who participated).
There are also some other great workshops happening at Looky Here with folks like CAConrad and Jayson Keery, so check out the full list of offerings here.
